4-Wheel Low (4LD^: This selting also engsgsE your
front ак1е and delivers extra torqgg. You may never
need 4LO It sends maximum power to all four wheels.
You mighl choose 4LO it you are driving oft-road In
deep sand, deep mudr deep snow and climbing
or descending steep hills.
You car shirt from 2-Wheel High (2HJ) to 4-Wheel High
(4HI} Or from 4-Wheel High (4HI) to 2-Wheel High
(2HI) while Ihe vehicia is moving. Your front axle will
engage faster ff you lake your foot off of the acceleralor
for a couple of seconds after you shifi. tn extrsmely
cold weather, il may be necessary tg stop or slow ihe
vehicle to shift info 4-Whaef High (4HI).
To shift into Of out of 4-Wheel Low (4LO) or
MEUTRAL (N)l
1. Slow the vehicle to a roll, about f fo 3 mph (2 lo
5 km/h) and shift an aufomatic transmission into
NEUTRAL (N). or with a ntanual transmission, press
the dutch pedal.
2. Shirt the transfer case shift lever in one continuous
motion.

case into 4 Wheel Low (4LOK O'" your gears could clash.
Remember that driving in 4-Wheel High (4HI) or
4-Wheei Low (4LO) may reduce fuel economy. Also,
driving in four-wheel drive on dry pavement could cause
your tires to wear faster and make your transfer case
harder to shift and run noisier^

are located fo the left of
the Instrument panel
cluster.
Use these switches to shirt info and out of four-wheel
drive.
