diagnoslic system can determine iT the iuel cap has
been ieil off or improperly irtstalled. A loose or missing
fuel cap wilt aiiow luel lo avaporiate into the atmosphere.

tf so, your electrical system may bo wat The cpndiiion
will' usually be ooriecled when the electrical system

Have yoLi recently changed brands of fuel?
It so. be sure to fuel your vehicls with quality fuel. See
Gasoflne Octane on fiage 5-5. Poor fuel quality wiil
cause your engine nol to run as efficiently as designed.
You may notice this as stalling atter start-up, stalling
when you put the vehicle into gear, mistinng, hesitahon
on accelaralion or sturnbling on acceletalion. (These
conditions may go away once ihe engine is warmed up.)
This will be detected by the systern and cause the
light to turn on,
If the Light Is On Steady
If you experience one or more of these conditrons,
change the luel brand you use. It will require a1 leasl
one lull tank of Ihe proper luel to lurn the IfghI off.
If none oi the above steps have made the light turn off,
have your dealer or quatlfied service center check
the vehicle. Your dealer has the proper test equipmant
and diagnostic tools to fix any mechanical or electrical
problems that may have developed.

equipment on your vehicle. Failure to pass this
Inspection could prevent you from getting a vehicle
registration.
